Animate an image with Seedance

Image to video starts the clip on your picture, so the subject, framing and colours stay yours. Add a second image as the last frame and Seedance plans the motion between the two — useful for reveals, transformations and product turns.

The prompt says what happens: the action, how the camera moves and what we hear. The video takes the shape of your image, so nothing is cropped, at 480P, 720P or 1080P depending on the model.

The form checks your image's size and shape before you pay and tells you exactly what's off. Use pictures you own or have permission to use — ByteDance asks for consent before real people's portraits are used.

Which pictures work best: a sharp image with one clear subject, room around it to move, and light that fits the scene you describe. Avoid collages, heavy text and tiny faces. Then write the motion, not the picture — the model already sees what's in the frame, so "she turns toward the window, the camera slowly pushes in, rain taps on the glass" works better than describing her again.

Good uses for image to video: product shots that turn or open, portraits that blink, smile and look up, landscapes with moving clouds, water and light, and before-and-after reveals with a last frame. For people, keep the motion natural and short — a head turn or a few steps holds a face better than a full dance.
